Asharqia Chamber organizes a workshop on "Wage Protection towards Effective Compliance"

On Wednesday, May 8, 2024, the Asharqia Chamber organized a workshop titled "Wage Protection Towards Effective Compliance" with the presence of the Director-General of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development branch in the Eastern Region, Mohammed bin Saud Al-Samari, and the Senior Advisor to the Director-General of Regulatory Relations at the Ministry, Engineer Fahad bin Mohammed Al-Qahtani.

The workshop, moderated by Chamber board member Hamad bin Hamoud Al-Hammad, discussed the importance of the Wage Protection Program launched by the Ministry targeting all private sector establishments. Its aim is to monitor and enhance their commitment to submitting employees' wage files.

The program aims to ensure timely payment of wages and rights documentation through transparent wage payment procedures, reducing labor disputes to create a healthy work environment that encourages productivity and competitiveness in the labor market. It aims to provide a level of social prosperity by making employee entitlements one of the employer's top priorities to ensure a stable and dignified life for them.

Additionally, it aims to regulate the wages of expatriate workers, linking them to their employment contracts to reduce concealment and fraudulent activities, contribute to increasing the productivity of private sector employees, provide opportunities for establishing economic entities and numerous jobs for citizens, enhance transparency, improve facility monitoring by paying workers' wages, registering accurate wages, and reflecting them on beneficiaries' returns. It also helps in detecting fraudulent registrations and sustaining the financial fund.

The workshop highlighted several advantages for program users, including instant calculation of wage ranges and commitment certificates to ensure reliable wage payment and safeguarding the rights of workers and establishments. Moreover, it provides instant calculation of national workforce in the program and developer ranges for establishments located in the green zone committed to the Wage Protection Program, obtaining electronic commitment certificates, which are one of the requirements for contracting with government entities. Additionally, the Wage Protection Program ensures documenting wage payment in the private sector and maintaining the contractual relationship.

Compliance with the program offers many benefits to establishments, including a payroll management system, a comprehensive, secure, and reliable system, and fully automated solutions starting from displaying establishment and employee data by linking with the General Organization for Social Insurance to automatically transferring and uploading the wage protection file with simple and concise steps.

During the workshop, Muhammad bin Ali Al-Qattan, Director-General of Regulatory Operations, Engineer Isa bin Saleh Al-Daghash, Portfolio Director for the Wage Protection Program, Bandar bin Suleiman Al-Ghufais, and from the Mudad Platform, Nora bint Dakhil.
